Short List Provisions

How It Works

Drop Dates

Each bread listing shows a drop date — that's the day it bakes and becomes available for pickup or delivery. Drop days are usually Tuesdays. Series breads are scheduled in advance so you can plan ahead; order before they sell out.

Coffee, chocolate, ferments, and other goods can be ordered at any time. Daniel will get them staged and send notice when they're ready to grab — or they can be delivered on your next drop date.

Notifications

Here's what to expect in your inbox after you order:

  • Order Received — confirms your order landed and is under review. Hold off on payment for now.
  • Order Confirmed — Daniel has approved your order. You're good to pay at any point between now and pickup/delivery — but your bread isn't necessarily baked, or goods staged yet. Hold yer horses a little longer.
  • Let's Get that Bread! or Your Goods are Ready to Snag! — your bread and/or other goodies are ready to pick up. Release the Kraken!
  • Delivery Incoming! — Heads up, your order will be arriving soon!

Breadscriber Program

Preorder a minimum number of loaves from the current series and earn Breadscriber status. Breadscribers get $1 off every item on all orders while their status is active. No coupon code needed — the discount applies automatically.

Your status carries over to the next series as long as you qualify there before the current one ends. If the series is in its final weeks, we'll redirect you to preorder from the next one to keep your streak going.

Delivery

Delivery is available on Vashon Island only — no ferry crossings yet. The calculated fee depends on how far you are from the Dough-Joe, how many drops your orders entail, and is calculated at checkout. Delivery happens once per week on drop day, usually between 4 and 6pm. A reminder email is sent ahead of time. If you aren't around to receive your goods, it's a good idea to have a safe space for me to leave them, protected from wild critters of good taste and the elements.

Payment

We don't process payments through the site. Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check — kinda old school, kinda new school. Breadscribers pay for their qualifying order upfront — 'scribers get discounts for the duration of the series, and I don't have to do as much accounting every week — that's the win-win.
